Penguins NCAA Alumni Season Recap

Teddy Willet 

  • A Senior captain for Assumption this season and Penguins 20’ alum appeared in 3 games posting 1 ground ball and 1 caused turnover.

Demitri Papoulis

  • Penguins 19’ alum and grad student for Babson appeared in all 18 games this season helping the Beavers to a NEWMAC championship. He posted a final stat line of 2 goals,1 assist while scooping 13 ground balls and causing 10 turnovers.

Bruno Batty

  • The freshman long stick and penguins 23’ alum appeared in 6 games for Babson posting 6 ground balls and 1 caused turnover

James Carr

  • A Penguins 22’ alum and redshirt freshman appeared in only 1 game for the Bryant Bulldogs making 3 saves on 3 shots in a win versus Umass Lowell.

Liam Hill

  • The Junior for Catholic University and former Penguins 21’ played in 12 games for the Cardinals finishing the season with 9 goals and 1 assist along with scooping up 2 ground balls.

Andrew Walsh

  • A Penguins 22’ alum and sophomore defenseman for Catholic University appeared in all 17 games scoring 1 goal in addition to picking up 4 ground balls and causing 1 turnover. 

Harry Leduc

  • A junior at Clark University and former Penguins 21’ appeared in 10 games scooping up 10 ground balls, causing 4 turnovers, along with adding 1 assist for the Cougars. Leduc was named to the NEWMAC All-Academic team as well. 

Anton Boxler

  • Penguins 22’ alum and sophomore at Denison played in all 20 games posting a final stat line of 1 assist, 14 ground balls, and 3 caused turnovers. 

Jabes Escalante

  • The senior for Felician University and Penguins 20’ alum appeared in all 14 games this season scoring 15 goals and 9 assists along with scooping up 26 ground balls and causing 7 turnovers. 

Connor Henchy

  • A sophomore midfielder for Franklin-Pierce and Penguins 22’ played in 12 games for the Ravens scoring 4 goals and picking up 1 ground ball

Aidan Walsh

  • The sophomore at Gordon College and Penguins 22’ alum played 15 games this season going 49% from the face-off X and picking up a team leading 89 ground balls. He also added 2 goals and 2 assists along with causing 3 turnovers for the Lions. 

Matt Paquette

  • The Penguins 23’ Alum and freshman at Hartwick appeared in 2 games picking up 1 ground ball and causing 1 turnover. 

Luke Ward

  • The Freshman at Hartwick and Penguins 23’ alum played in 10 games scoring 9 goals and 8 assists. He also picked up 9 ground balls and caused 1 turnover for the Hawks.

Chris Closuit

  • The Penguins 22’ alum and Sophomore defenseman at Ithaca appeared in 1 game scooping 4 ground balls and causing 1 turnover.

Sean Logan

  • The Freshman at Milwaukee School of Engineering and former Penguins 23’ alum played in 5 games scoring 3 goals and 3 assist for the Raiders along with scooping up 4 ground balls. 

Brady Morgan

  • The Junior goalie at Nichols and former Penguins 21’ had a monster season this year starting all 18 games, posting a 61% save percentage, 8.39 GAA and making 215 saves for the Bison. This earned him a spot on the All-Commonwealth Conference 1st Team. 

Mike McLaughlin

  • The Junior midfielder at Wheaton College, and Penguins 21’ alum, appeared in sixteen games;  scoring 18 goals, scooping up 26 ground balls, and causing 6 turnovers. McLaughlin led the team in assists with 19, and ranked 3rd in points.

Jack Board

  • Another Junior member of the Wheaton Lyons, and Penguins 21’ Alum appeared in seventeen games, scoring 26 Goals, and 7 assists. This earned his spot as a top three scorer on the team

Brendan King

  • The senior at Wentworth Institute of Technology, and Penguins 20’ alum played in 3 games scooping up one ground ball and one faceoff win.

Jordan Damske

  • In his sophomore season at VT State University – Castleton, the attackman scored 15 goals, 2 assists, scooped 25 ground balls, and caused 5 turnovers in his seventeen games played.

Brett Tobasky

  • The Freshman goalie at coast guard, and former member of the 23’ penguins team, appeared in two games putting up 6 saves

Patrick Stevens

  • The sophomore long pole at University of New England, and Penguins 22’, played in seventeen games, scooping 21 ground balls, and causing 5 turnovers

Will Fosdick

  • The Freshman D-Middie at Umass Boston Appeared in ten games, and Penguins 23’ scored 2 goals, assisted one goal, and scooped up 10 ground balls.

Jaden Cronin

  • The Freshman long stick midfielder at Umass Boston, and Penguins 23’ alumni appeared in 16 games scooping up 21 ground balls, winning 14 faceoffs, causing 8 turnovers on the defensive end, and putting up 5 pole goals.

Nolen Beauregard

  • The two-way midfielder appeared in 7 games in his sophomore campaign. Despite battling injury, Nolen scored 4 goals and added 2 assists along with 6 GB’s and 3 caused turnovers.

Sean Cullagh

  • Junior defender Sean Cullagh started every game for the Beacons in 2024 and was a nightmare for attackmen as he finished the season with 25 ground balls and 15 caused turnovers. He also tallied a goal to help the Beacons in his 18 games played. Cullagh’s efforts were recognized with All LEC Second Team honors.

Sean Murphy

  • The midfielder at St. Michaels, and former Penguins 22’ played in fourteen games. Recording 15 goals, assisting his teammates 6 times, scooping 26 ground balls, and causing 7 turnovers.

Nick Cotting

  • The sophomore midfielder at Roger Williams University played in three games. The former 2022 Penguin scooped up 1 ground ball, and caused 1 turnover.

Marc Hirshom

  • The senior captain at Plymouth State, and class of 2020 Penguin alumni played in nineteen games, scoring 1 pole goal, recording 1 assist and scooping up an impressive 60GBs and recording a staggering 39 CTs. The defensemen went on to earn a spot on the All LEC First Team.

Otto Kirleis 

  • A member of the 2020 Penguins, Otto faced shots in 6 games this season for UMass Boston with 4 ground balls and 2 caused turnovers to be paired with his .591 save %.

Luke Murphy

  • UMass Boston grad student Luke Murphy performed in his 5th year with the Beacons putting up 25 goals, 21 assists, 59 GB’s and 22 takeaways. The Beacons’ captain was honored as a member of the All LEC Second Team, USILA North South game, NEILA East West game in his final collegiate season.

Padraig (Mic) Flynn

  • 2019 Penguins alumni Mic Flynn closed out his collegiate career with the UMass Boston Beacons in the spring of 2024 as he appeared in all 18 games and put up 17 goals, 6 assists, and 15 ground balls all while serving as a captain for his team.
