About
Our Club

Welcome to Penguins Select Lacrosse Club, located in Natick, MA. We specialize in elevating each player's game, offering elite, affordable programs for boys from 3rd grade to high school seniors. At our core, we believe in tailoring development to meet individual aspirations, whether that's securing a spot on a collegiate roster or contributing significantly to tournament victories.

We're about more than just lacrosse skills; we're about building a community around the love of lacrosse, fun and competition. Our club is selective, not just for skill but for character and dedication. We foster a family atmosphere where every member, from coaches to players, is approachable and invested in each other's success. Our coaches are not only experienced in playing and coaching lacrosse, but also have a role as mentors who are accessible and supportive.

For those aiming high, our pathways to college programs are clear and well-supported. We take pride in preparing our top athletes for college recruitment across Division 1, 2, and 3, ensuring they have the skills and opportunities to shine in regional tournaments (or our Raiders National team). In addition, our tiered team structure (Blue, White, and Orange) supports the opportunity to create an enjoyable, competitive environment for athletes whose lacrosse aspirations may be focused on performing at a higher level for their school or town program.

At Penguins Select, it's about the love of the game, the joy of play and competition, the advantages of teamwork and the importance of practice and discipline.

The Experience

Creating a positive experience for players that they can lean on for the rest of their lives. Our mission is to leave players feeling good about themselves and the sport. The Penguins should be a place where players can feel like they are improving and building confidence in themselves.

We are a program where players can feel comfortable developing the skills necessary to compete at the high school and college level. Players who graduate as seniors from the Penguins program have the ability to be a meaningful contributor on a college lacrosse team and will make an impact on and off of the the lacrosse field.

We look for players who are focused on getting better everyday and that is accomplished through attending practices and skill sessions but also working individually at home.

What our parents Say

While my son has loved being a Penguin since the day of his tryout, as a parent I knew this was the right program for our family when I noticed that Coach Alex asked the boys the same question at the end of every practice: "Did you guys have fun?" We were in search of a program that would both foster our son's deep love for and enjoyment of playing lacrosse and provide high-level, personalized coaching with plenty of reps to help him to achieve whatever level of success he ultimately wants, and we are happy to have found that with Penguins.

For our competitive son, "fun" also means being challenged.  The program's relentlessly positive-- yet still rigorous--coaching, Fall and Winter skills sessions, and the availability of special programs like goalie, faceoff, and defense training, as well as the box program, ensure he is growing his skills and having fun year-round. After two years in the program both his skills and lacrosse IQ have grown by leaps and bounds.
But the best thing about Penguins is undoubtedly its coaching staff.  Positive and energetic, they know every boy personally, visibly care about their development both as athletes and as humans, and still understand that sports are supposed to be fun.  We are so grateful to be part of this program and the Penguins family!

This is our fourth year with the Penguins Program and as a parent I could not be happier. The communication and up front scheduling from the staff has been amazing and extremely valuable. The coaching that my children have been exposed to; whether through the mini camps, tournaments and clinics/camps throughout the summer has been first class, and the friendships my boys have made with their teammates has only sweetened the deal. The coaches instill a love of the game, and more importantly a respect for their teammates, opponents and officials. The coaches and staff also embrace the whole family. My youngest has always been made to feel a part of the program, and he is thrilled to start his lacrosse journey as a Junior Penguin. Two years ago, I selfishly tried to convince my 2022 to try out for a program closer to home. He was adamant that he stay a Penguin because he had fun, and he really loved his coach. I am so glad that I listened to him, and I continue to watch him develop with his younger brothers right behind him.

Eight years ago my son played in his first lacrosse tournament. Jason and Tyler were just starting the PrimeTime program and my son proudly wore the PrimeTime pinnie. To this day, we still talk about that first lacrosse road trip to UMass. He was hooked and so it began, we became a Penguin family. For the majority of his years, he has been fortunate enough to have Coach Wellemeyer as his head coach. There are a lot of coaches out there that know the game. However, Coach Wellemeyer not only knows the game, he also has the ability to teach the game in a constructive and encouraging way that builds confidence in his players. The positive reinforcement my son has received from his coaches and the Penguin staff has, without question, instilled a passion for the game within him. The fall of 2016 will be his last season playing as a PrimeTime Penguin. I would like to thank Coach Wellemeyer and Coach Lenfest for an outstanding experience. PrimeTime Lacrosse over the years as put my son in front of hundreds of college coaches. We are very proud to say he has committed to Hartwick College to study business and play lacrosse.
