The Penguins Select Lacrosse Club are proud to announce that two 2020 players have made their college choice. Teddy Willet (Norwood High School) has committed to NCAA Division II Assumption College, and Aidan Warrener (Bishop Hendricken High School) has committed to NCAA Division II Pace University.
Willett, a standout defenseman and long stick midfielder from Norwood, was our first 2020 to commit. Teddy has been the backbone of the 2020 defense for 3+ years, and has excelled in the Penguins program. He can play both close defense and LSM, and is valuable for his tough play and hard work on the defensive side of the ball. Teddy is also great at clearing the ball, and a threat to score in transition. Teddy’s hard work has paid off, as he has chosen Division II Assumption College, where he will join 2017 Penguins alums Aidan Tefft and Adam Becker.
Later in the same day, we got word that Aidan Warrener, an attackman and midfielder out of Bishop Hendricken High School in Rhode Island, has decided to go to Pace University. Aidan has also been with the Penguins for the past 3+ years, and has been a constant force on the offensive end. Aidan has impressed the coaches with his smart playmaking and great shooting ability. He has been working really hard on improving his game, and we are super excited for his choice to go to DII power Pace.
Penguins 2020 coach Alex Bunick had this to say about the commitments, “I am really proud of both Teddy and Aidan for committing to great institutions. Both guys have worked really hard on and off the field in this process to get to where they are today. I have enjoyed coaching both of them immensely, and I am really excited to see what they can do in the future!”
