Boys Penguins Select Lacrosse Tryouts

Penguins Select Lacrosse Tryouts  2019-2020

Boys Lacrosse Club, Metro West, Boston, MA

Penguins Select Lacrosse is looking to fill a very limited number of spots on our Summer 2020 rosters. Instead of operating on field tryouts this Spring to fill these spots, we have an online evaluation option for prospective Penguins players.

In addition to 1 2022 Defenseman, 1 2023 Midfielder, and 1 2027 Midfielder, we have limited openings for other age groups, please email Penguins@PrimeTimeLacrosse.com to learn more.

Prospective Penguins must complete as many of items below as possible to be evaluated based on resources that you can safely utilize at home. We will provide details of the options below once you contact us!

  • Coach Recommendation form (mandatory)
  • Highlight Film/Complete Game Film
  • Video Wall Ball Workout
  • Video Field Workout
Looking forward to seeing everyone soon!

Penguins Select Lacrosse club evaluates potential players on a “rolling admissions” basis at our skills sessions and practices. We are always looking for talented, hardworking players to join the Penguins family.

Email Alex.Bunick@PrimeTimeLacrosse.com to set up an evaluation for the 2019-2020 season!

At the conclusion of the Penguins Select Lacrosse tryouts, selected players will be offered a spot in the Penguins Select Lacrosse Club program. Players will compete in 2-3 Fall tournaments and all practices with balanced rosters comprised of all players in a given age group.

Top players will be offered a spot in the Winter Box Lacrosse program (2021-2028) as well, and players who are not selected for the Winter Box Lacrosse program, or those players who are not able to make the time commitment to the Winter Box program will participate in our Winter Skills program.

Based on ability level demonstrated in the Fall tournaments, practices, and winter skills and/or box players will be notified of a “Blue” or “Orange” team assignment for Summer 2020 by February 1st, 2020.

Team assignment is based on what our experienced coaching staff believes is the best place for the development of the athlete. Many players who could be “Blue” team players are better served in their development by being a top “Orange” team player. Team composition will also be evaluated constantly, so it is possible players can move between the two teams based on roster needs and fit.

For summer practices, the first 20 minutes of each practice will be Blue and Orange teams combined for warm ups and skill development. Wednesday practices will also be combined Blue and Orange teams. The final 70 minutes of Tuesday and Thursday practices will be separate Blue and Orange team practices to review previous tournament and upcoming tournament team strategy and development. Blue and Orange teams may still participate in full field drills together during this time at the coaches discretion.

Please don’t hesitate to contact Jason@PrimeTimeLacrosse.com or Tyler@PrimeTimeLacrosse.com with any questions that you may have, and we look forward to seeing you at tryouts!

Two notable changes for the 2019-2020 season:

The mandatory team helmet now offers players a choice between a Warrior and a Cascade S option. The design will remain unchanged for those who already have team helmets.

All YOUTH goalies (2024 and younger) will now participate in the Fall and Summer Team Seasons free of charge. Goalies can use the code “YouthGoalies19” to waive the tryout fee as well.

Please see below for programming offered by year of high school graduation.
