Penguins in College – Mid Season Recap (Class of 2017, 2018)

Penguins Alumni from the 2017 and 2018 Teams are having tremendous results at the collegiate level during the 2022 season. Roughly the halfway point of the college season, these former Penguins have continued their lacrosse careers at highly ranked NCAA Division I, II, and III institutions across New England. This is part 1 of 2 and next week will recap Penguins Alumni from the 2019, 2020, and 2021 Teams.

Penguins 2017 Team

Adrian Enchill – Brown University (NCAA Division I) — Adrian has started 2 and played in all 9 games for the Bears at LSM. He is tied for fourth on the team with 14 ground balls to go along with 4 caused turnovers, which is good for fifth on the team. 

Penguins 2018 Team

Ryan Birch – Bentley University (NCAA Division II) — Ryan was named a captain for Falcons during the 2022 season. Through 8 games he is tied for the team lead in assists with 11, to go along with 9 goals. His 20 points are good for third on the team.

Kyle McEniry – Springfield College (NCAA Division III) — Kyle has 5 goals, 5 assists, and 17 ground balls as a midfielder for the Pride in 11 games so far this year.

Sean Lazarro – Wentworth Institute of Technology (Division III) — Sean has started 8 of 9 games at defense for Wentworth this season. He currently sits 3rd in both ground balls and caused turnovers with 24 and 10 respectively.

Darragh Fahey – Umass Boston (NCAA Division III) – Darragh has played both attack and midfield for the Beacons this season. He is third on the team in goals, assists, and points with a 20-16-36 stat line. He also has 25 ground balls for the Beacons who are averaging almost 17 goals per game.

Scott Ehrenberg – Nichols College (NCAA Division III) — Scott has an impressive 90 ground balls for the Bison so far this season, while winning 68% of his face-offs. Scott currently ranks 13th in DIII in face-off winning percentage.

Jack Ranta – Umass Boston (NCAA Division III) — Jack has 14 ground balls and 5 caused turnovers as the starting LSM for the Beacons. He has also has tallied 1 assist on the season.

Jamaurie James – Western New England University (NCAA Division III) — Jamaurie has played in 10 of 11 games so far this season and has 3 assists, 6 ground balls, and 5 caused turnovers.

Kyle Hirshom – St. Michael’s College (NCAA Division III) — Kyle was a named a captain for Purple Knights during the 2022 season. He has 14 assists this year, and is second on the team with 24 points. Kyle has also scooped up 14 ground balls and cause 5 turnovers so far this season.

Jason Vickery – American International College (NCAA Division II) — Jason is third on the Yellowjackets in goals, assists, and points with 6-4-10 so far on the season. He also has 18 ground balls, tied for 4th on the team

Shawn Wise – Hood University (NCAA Division III) — Shawn has appeared in 3 games for Hood this season.

Jarrod Sweeney – Nichols College (NCAA Division III) — Jarrod has 3 goals and 1 assist while appearing in 4 games for Nichols this season.

Chris Palin – Umass Boston (NCAA Division III) — Chris has battled injuries all season and has appeared in 1 game and has 1 assist and 2 ground balls on the season.

Matt Palin – Umass Boston (NCAA Division III) — Matt has played in 8 of the 10 games for the Beacons picking up 8 ground balls and causing 3 turnovers this season.

Robert Colburn – Franklin Pierce University (NCAA Division II) — Robert has started all 7 games on defense for FPU. He is second on the team with 24 ground balls, and leads them in caused turnovers with 14.

John Carr – Post University (NCAA Division II) — John has started 4 and appeared in 5 games so far this year for the Eagles. He has a 52% Save percentage and made 58 saves so far this season.
