Penguins Goalie Makes Team USA

2022 Penguins Goalie James Carr Selected for US Lacrosse Team USA U15 Team

Last week in Maryland, 2022 Penguin Goalie James Carr, had the incredible opportunity to try out for the Team USA U15 lacrosse team. The tryouts featured 300 of the top players from around the country vying for spots on Team USA. When the tryouts finished up, Carr was one of 22 players selected for the U15 team, and one of only two goalies on the roster.

Carr, a Natick High School Sophomore, initially made it through a first round of tryouts to get picked to go down to Maryland. After a tough 3 day tryout, James was selected to be a part of Team USA. James will now get to take part in the Fall Classic tournament with Team USA from October 18th-20th where they will get to play competition from around the world, including Team Canada.

Carr has been a standout for the Penguins organization over the past 5 years. He has been the backbone for a strong 2022 team, and led them to a championship at the Lake George Invitational to end last summer. His Penguins Coach Spencer Low says, “James is a tremendous leader and competitor who consistently makes big saves when the team needs it most! He elevates the play of the guys in front of them, and he is such an integral part of this team.” Penguins Goalie Coach Chris St. George also adds “For the past 5 years James has worked hard both in team practices and goalie training sessions to get to where he is. I am very happy to see all of his hard work paying off for him.”

We wish James the best of luck as he competes with Team USA!
