Penguins at Fall Classic

On another beautiful day in New Hampshire, the Penguins program continued tournament play with 2025, 2026 Orange, 2027/28 and 2029/30 Penguins all competing at the Fall Classic. The program went 7-4-1 overall with several one goal losses and games that saw all teams compete at a very high level.

The 2025 Penguins shined going 3-0 on the day with decisive victories against Rip It Bucks, HGR,  and Maine Mussels.  The team let up just nine goals on the day and had a goal differential of 18 overall. The 2025 Penguins were backed by strong goaltending and defense all day long.

“I have to say how proud I am of the team and the growth we have made as a program. The energy and attitude of all the players was amazing to see and it showed in their play. We played aggressive team defense causing turnovers all over the field, not allowing other teams to feel comfortable. Our midfield played great both ends of the field running past teams and pushing it every chance they had. Our attack played great taking every opportunity they got and capitalized on their chances.”

Coach Chris St. George

The 2029/30 Penguins also had a great day going 2-1 overall. After struggling for the first game of the day, the team picked up some key wins against the Bulldogs and Houlagans.

“I was very happy to see how the team rebounded from the first loss of the day. We had great goaltending in the second two games with Graham Wachtendonk and Evan Marzi in the cage. Our defense was excellent and was backed by Braylon Beville all day alongside Chase Quandt and Colin Riley. DJ Jenkins and Nolan Merenda boosted our offense and we got a lot of production out of Nolen Hartman and Austin Keyser as well. Overall I was really excited how the team played especially as this was our first tournament for our youngest group!”

Coach Jason Wellemeyer

The 2027/28 Penguins went 1-1-1 with a great win against the Mountaineers and tied a tough HGR team. There only loss came at the hands of the Houlagans who came from behind to claim a one goal victory. The 2026 Orange Penguins had a great team win against Rip It Chimps and lost a tough back and forth game to the Battlehawks to close out the day.
