The Penguins had a very successful weekend at the Bulldog Brawl on the campus of Bryant University. The Penguins had 11 teams competing in 13 brackets and were able to advance three to the playoffs and two to championship games.
The weekend was capped off by an impressive championship run by the Penguins 2027/28 team. The braveheart victory came as they defeated a strong Billerica team to take home the medals.
“The boys worked hard all weekend and we were able to get into the playoffs through a tie-breaker,” Coach Weiss said. “We had a strong semi-final performance which put us against the same Billerica team we had lost to earlier in the weekend. It was a great back and forth game and to win in a braveheart was something else.”
During the weekend the 2020 Penguins went 2-1 in pool play and made their way to the championship game where they faced a tough Topgun Clams team. Though they ended up falling by a score of 5-3, which saw them in the Bulldog Brawl championship game for the second consecutive summer.
The 2024 Orange team also had a strong showing as they went 2-1 in pool play and advanced to the semi-finals of their bracket. The lost 4-3 in a very tight contest to close out their tournament.
The 2021 Penguins ended going 2-2 on the weekend and narrowly missed making the playoffs.
Overall it was a tremendous weekend for the program and six Penguins Blue teams will be attending the Legacy Tournament at the end off June in Devens, MA.
