The 2019 summer season kicked off this past weekend at the PrimeTime Shootout as the Penguins had 14 teams participating from 2029 to 2020.
The 2021 Penguins had a great weekend, going 4-0 in regular pool play and losing a very close semi-final game to 4Leaf Lacrosse by a score of 5-4.
“The team played really well on Saturday and Sunday and was focused for our playoff run,” Coach Marco said. “We came up against a good 4Leaf team in the playoffs. We are excited to keep it going this coming weekend.”
The 2022 Penguins Blue team also had a great weekend going 2-2 with great wins against a strong Canadian team called the SMOKEselects and also beating Laxachussetts White 9-2 in an excellent all around team performance.
The 2022 Penguins Orange team also did well with multiple one goal games.
“The 2022’s had a solid start to the summer season going 2-2 in the AA bracket and 1-1-2 in the A bracket,” Coach Spencer said. “Both teams saved their best lacrosse for the final day of the tournament which included a 9-2 win over Laxachusetts and a 4-3 win over the RI Bulldogs. The group as a whole improved a ton from the first game to the last and we’re very excited about the success that’s to come for the 2022 Penguins.”
The 2024 Penguins Blue had key victories against the RI Bulldogs and the 2024 Penguins Orange had a great win against an Albany Power team.
Coach Wellemeyer on the Shootout performance: “Overall, we were very happy with how both teams played this weekend. All goalies played great and defense was working hard to keep shots to the outside. The competition was very strong and we are excited to continue working at practice this week and get going for the Brawl.”
The 2025 Penguins started the tournament off with an excellent 5-2 win against the NE Blackwolves. They also played a strong game against the NH Tomahawks Purple who were the eventual division winners.
Overall it was a great weekend for Penguins teams and all teams will continue their summer as they will travel to Rhode Island for the Bulldog Brawl at Bryant University.
