Penguins 2018 Robert Colburn has formalized his commitment to NCAA Division II Franklin Pierce University by signing his National Letter of Intent last week. Colburn joined the 2018 Penguins just last summer, and immediately garnered a ton of college interest across all 3 divisions with his dominant performances at the PrimeTime Shootout and Legacy Invitational events.
Colburn was named an All-American for his performance at Walpole High School in 2017, and has been named a team captain of the Rebels along with fellow Penguins Darragh Fahey and Ryan Birch for the 2018 season.
“Rob was a guy who made an immediate impact for us. He is obviously a terrific athlete, and brought a new element to our team with his versatility and ability to make plays all over the field. More importantly than that, he embodied the competitive spirit that our 2018 group had become known for — it is a group that is incredibly competitive and truly hates to lose and really contributed to that attitude coming up with big plays that saw our group win a PrimeTime Shootout Championship and reach the Championship games of two other major summer events in 2017.” said Coach Low.
Rob and teammate Darragh Fahey were also recently featured in a Hometown Weekly article regarding their recruiting process and commitment. You can read that article at the link here.
