3d Mayflower Invitational Recap

The Penguins program competed in the 3d Mayflower Invitational on November 11th in Taunton, MA. The Penguins 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025 all participated and combined for a 5-5 record on the day with some quality wins.

The 2024 Penguins started the day off with a huge 12-2 win against the Boston Kings. Next they had a great game against 3d New England but came up just short in a 7-4 loss. They finished off the day with a strong 11-1 win against the New England Twisters. Overall they went 2-1 and outscored their opponents 30-7. Coach Wellemeyer on the day, “This was probably our best day of lacrosse all fall, the team played re3d Mayflower Invitationalally well especially on the defensive side of the field. Offensively we were making the right plays and moving the ball quickly. I could not have been more proud of the way the boys played.”

The 2023 Penguins had a good day as well with a quality win against the NH Tomahawks and a very close game against 3d Upstate. The 2025 Penguins also played tough all day and had some competitive games against solid teams. Coach Sellew on the day, “We worked hard on both ends of field and saw great improvement against teams we had played in the past. Overall we played hard and competed all day.”

Finally, the 2022AA Penguins went 2-1 on the day with excellent wins against 3d Great Lakes and the Lax Pros. They dropped a hard fought game against 3D New England 6-3 and overall the outscored their opponents 27-9. Coach Spencer on some great wins, “Top to bottom this was our most complete day of lacrosse of the Fall. From the goaltending and defense through the midfield and attack, guys at every position contributed and helped us to wins over two solid opponents and a tight loss to a strong 3d NE team”
